Monmouth wide receiver Reggie White Jr. signs with the New York Giants

Former Monmouth wide receiver Reggie White Jr. signed a contract with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent.

White was a star at Milford Mill High School. At Milford, he played for his father Reggie White Sr., who also played in the NFL. He played both offense and defense there. On offense, he had 36 catches for 764 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior. On defense he had 34 tackles, 7 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries as a senior as well. He also made all-county and all-metro.

“Milford Mill helped me out a lot, it brung out the best in me," White said. "It means a lot to be a role model in the Baltimore area. There were people I looked up to growing up so I just want to be a great role model for the kids growing up in Baltimore today.”

While at Monmouth, White set the Monmouth career receptions record with 249 catches and the Monmouth receiving yard record with 1133 yards. In his senior year, White was named to the All-ECAC First Team and First Team All-Big South. He finished first in the conference in receiving touchdowns, receiving yards, yards per game and receptions per game.

“Monmouth program did so much for me," White said. "My coaches and teammates pushed me to become the player I am today. Going to Monmouth was one of the best decisions I made. Everything worked out great!”

After he graduated from Monmouth, White trained at Test Football Academy to get ready for his pro day and other workouts.

Before the draft, White worked out with multiple teams such as the Giants, Ravens, Jets, 49ers, and Seahawks. His visit with the Giants went great for him.

“I had a local day with the Giants," White said. "They really showed a lot of interest and had me stay after to meet with the coaches. It’s really a family environment,”

White reported to East Rutherford on Thursday for rookie minicamp which started Friday. He will be wearing number 13.
